about us

Picture
...  location ...

We are based in a sleepy village in North Warwickshire, a short drive from the Belfry Golf Course - home to The Ryder Cup Golf Championship - and just off the M42 motorway link.   Our dogs enjoy the fresh country air, and our farming neighbours work either arable land, or a combination of arable, beef and dairy cattle - in fact our dairy supplies travel no less than 1 mile from fresian herd: to on-farm-dairy: to our door!!!   Now that's excellent food mileage!!

...the past .....

By way of background, involvement, fascination and love of the boxer began, for Debbi, over 20 years ago after a chance meeting with a boxer bitch who was being sick near her parents' home!   A puppy was kept from that same bitch's subsequent litter - as bred by her owners - and Debbi, began to show the pup for them after getting to know the breeders.  They also kindly introduced her to dog training and a City of Birmingham Ch Show (then held at Perry Park, Birmingham!).     That same pup from the litter was later to become Debbi's first show dog ("Palibak Gentleman Jim") and was by Wanderobo Cool It x Palibak Scarlet Fantastic.

The rest as they say is history!

However, the poignant part to the story was that Debbi's grandfather (who died very young and before Debbi was born) was a serviceman in the Royal Navy.  He had seen lots of boxers during his duties, and always dreamt about owning boxers.  Back in those days money very tight; there was of course the war, and then his untimely passing at such a young age meant the dream for him was never fulfilled.

Back to Debbi's early involvement, love of the breed grew and grew, and the "Glanzend" affix was soon after granted and "Bullbo Sugar Ray" (Ch Norwatch Sunhawk Raffles x Blymhills Bashful Beauty at Bullbo) joined the show team.

The next addition was the lovely bitch "
Bitza Enola Gay for Glanzend" (Ch Bitza Shout n Roar x Pimms Perfection of Tyegarth), who did the kennel proud, quickly followed by a young hopeful "Faerdorn Caugh 'Cha Lookin at Glanzend" (Faerdorn Joker in the Pack x Faerdorn for the Good Times at Rayfos).   Both bitches faired really well in the ring, however a marriage break up forced the kennel to disband.   Debbi did, however, contine her interest in the breed, as well as carry out judging appointments across the country.

... the present ...

Please also feel free to visit our Guestbook and browse messages we receive from "Daervlish Boxer" owners, old and new ...

As for our affix, we wanted something that depicted the boxer.  They are certainly DAREing and at times rather DEVILish and so put together you get DAERVLISH (pronounced DAREvlish).  Debbi is also passed to award CC's in the breed.

... and to the future ...

All our puppies are named after Debbi's obsession wih a certain Irish rock band's music, but more importantly:

our puppies are always reared in a home environment, with socialisation in abundance

we breed only from sound, healthy, stock

ALL breeding stock is heart tested under the Boxer Breed Council guidelines; and

we ask all prospective bitch owners who approach us for a stud to test also

in accordance with current Breed Council findings and advice, our lines are free of known bloodlines lines to cardiomyopathy

we are Kennel Club Accredited Breeders; our puppies are sold insured, KC registere with a full 5 generation pedigree certificate, diet & Info sheet, sales contract, small vet-bedding piece and a toy (all Daervlish boxers also receive their own Christmas card in December each year!)

we are always at the end of the telephone for you for help and advice, for the LIFE of the puppy, and not just following sale

we plan litters carefully, and vet all prospective owners thoroughly

occasionally we have older stock available to suitable homes or know other reputable kennels with availability

As you will see from pictures dotted within the website, our little boy "Joe" also plays an important part here at Daervlish - his role includes ensuring fair sharing of boxer cuddles and also that there is always a boxer close by with whom to have some general fun - usually Ronnee!!

We are proud that our lines
win well for others and also breed on for them - we will always consider selling a show prospect to others.  Finally, we must mention our growing flock of hens!!   They provide the comedy, along with the boxers, here at Daervlish ....  Macey, Hilda, Bianca, Amber and Goldie are to name a few.   If you visit us, don't forget to take some fresh eggs home with you - they're fought over by family and friends!!!

We hope you have enjoyed reading about us - do have a look at our "News"
